Singer/songwriter Milow the Girl hails from Switzerland and has been known to captivate listeners with her potent lyrics and alluring, albeit edgy, music. Her latest release “Days of Power” illustrates how her true art lies not only in the flow of the music itself, but also the combined seasoning of talent, sassiness and sensitivity. Eurythmic’s Dave Stewart notes of the CD, ’Wow what an album, the mind boggles!!!’ Behind the music and the lyrics is a multi-layered woman who shows you her vision of life’s stories. Her transparent personal reflection is what has endeared many to Milow the Girl and her music. The varied influences of an artist who has been traveling and relocating all over the world since she was young, fluently speaks six languages, sings in four, and continues to learn more, can be heard in the music itself. These experiences in multi-cultures have translated musically into an ambient pop/rock style, reminiscent of a cross between Lily Allen and Dido. “Milow the Girl’s lyrical depth brings the listener to a beautiful balance that is almost spiritual.”, states PR Guru Fred Munzert In addition to her passion for music, the socially conscious artist works with several nonprofits, such as animal rights, fostering and the environment. Milow the Girl says, “I have been blessed to be surrounded by animals all my life. I find it so important to live in harmony with nature; it should be our primary concern to live and respect all that surrounds us. If each of us thought about the consequences of our actions and took the time to change one little thing...what a difference this would make.”
Milow the Girl began garnering attention within the last few years with charting radio singles and performing in esteemed venues throughout US, Europe and Asia including the Montreux Jazz Festival (Switzerland), the Shanghai International Music Festival (China), Le Reservoir Club (Paris), and the world-famous Whiskey A Go-Go and Avalon Clubs (Los Angeles, CA). In 2009, Milow the Girl received the award of Best European Singer at the LA Music Awards and Best Dance Song at USA Songwriting Awards. The buzz within the industry caught the attention of US-based label Realize Records and within a few months Milow the Girl was signed to the label and a promising collaboration was at hand. Of the deal, Milow the Girl stated, “I am very proud to be part of Realize Records and Unicity Productions. I feel very lucky that we share the same views on music and on how supportive they have been of my ideals and beliefs.”
The Cd entitled “Days of Power” was recorded in Miami, FL alongside Vinnie Zummo (Joe Jackson’s former band member). “The album captures Milow the Girl’s vivid personality and poignant vocals and within minutes of listening to the tracks, it’s apparent that she has poured her soul into creation of the CD.” Says Realize Records CEO Michel Grey.
Milow the Girl is bracing for a whirlwind journey as she prepares for the launch of the cd’s release and tour. Milow the Girls adds, “I believe that music is the best way to connect with people, I have a lot I want to say and I’m excited to get my ideas out through my music.” With two songs climbing the charts, national partnerships and an international fan base, Milow the Girl is destined to become a household name, and if she has her way she just may change the world while doing it.
